Literature Review about Yangseng(養生) studies in Korean Oriental Medicine

Abstract

|
Objectives: This study was aimed to analysis the trend of Yangseng(養生) studies in Korean Oriental Medicine and to consider the scope of Yangseng research.
Method: We collected 86 articles on Yangseng study result from the OASIS system using the keyword ’Yangseng’.
Results: There were Yangseng study papers that were published between 1963 and 2011. Published 21 papers on The Korean Journal of Oriental Preventive Medicine were more than the other journals. Literature studies account for 78% of total studies, whereas clinical studies account for only 22%. Effects of clinical studies was evaluated mainly by survey.
Conclusions: High quality experimental studies and intervention studies have not yet been published. It is necessary to research and develop duration of Yangseng effect and tools for evaluating.
